We should, when in a healthy place, be able to utilize any one of our potential stress responses, depending on the situation at hand. Polarized fight types, however, only use their fight response—regardless of the situation, and often do so in more extreme and manipulative ways than others may deploy their fight response. Extreme polarized fight types can often be bullies, narcissists, controlling, and confrontational. Controlling others is the best means of achieving safety for this type. I think this type often ends up creating more traumatized others than the polarized versions of the other response types.
